FAMILY BUSINESSES

The stable factor and cornerstone of the economy. For decades, if not centuries, family businesses have been practising principles that today - in a very modern way - promise new success. Sustainability is one example of this. Sustainable business practice is not new for family businesses, it is part of their attitude, as conscious use of resources is essential.

Family businesses are characterised by:

  • Long-term thinking and acting in the spirit of the life work
  • Careful handling of money
  • The employees make the company
  • Culture of trust as the basis for long-term success

Key questions:

  • Coming up with the next big thing - how do we improve our value proposition?
  • (Family) values and innovative entrepreneurship - how do we formulate a strategy based on these values that is supported by all stakeholders?
  • How do we realise the preconditions for an organisation in which people take the lead and handle family capital wisely?

Concepts and solutions

Entrepreneurship drives us and commitment and trust connects us. We are entrepreneurs ourselves and are familiar with the dynamics and emotions that play a role in family businesses. What impact strategy and organisation issues have on the family business and the family. That sometimes it is necessary to take a break, to stop the doing, the work, and to take the time and space to think about certain things. We are happy to help, to be the sparring partner who knows your industry and also brings the knowledge and experience to improve your business, formulate the right strategy and build an engaged organisation together.

Innovation is not the objective

The objective is to create added value for the family and ensure continuity. Innovation is a tool to improve the business. What is the biggest challenge for your company and how do you overcome it? Innovation in products, services and/or business processes to remain distinctive and therefore relevant. Also in times of growth and hectic. Companies that are unable to differentiate themselves are relegated to a battle for orders that is almost exclusively based on price.

Innovation does not have to be the action of a single person. Preferably, it is the result of a structured process in an empowering organisation that motivates employees to innovate. It is about understanding your customer's pain or limitation better than anyone else (including your customer) and then coming up with cutting-edge solutions that remove these limitations.

In these processes, we combine our creativity with our market knowledge and passion for making. Together, we realise innovative business models.
